We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical / Mechanical / Fit Out Project Manager to join our Construction team at JCA Engineering. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the efficient management of health & safety, quality, performance, plant, equipment, materials, logistics, movements, interfaces, and risks on the site.
Key Responsibilities:- Site Management: Supervise allocated contracts to ensure that our business principles of quality, profitability, and close client relationships are implemented at all times.
- Project Coordination: Manage the site, including efficient management of all labour, plant, equipment, materials, logistics, movements, interfaces, risks, and opportunities.
- Quality Control: Implement and maintain all JCA quality control processes on the project and provide feedback where necessary.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with statutory legislation, industry standard guidelines, employer's requirements, and any other JCA standard policies and procedures.
- Risk Management: Identify risks to health, safety, quality, and the environment and engage with other stakeholders to ensure that adequate risk management is maintained at all times.
- Health and Safety: Ensure that all safe systems of work are fully implemented at all times.
- Problem Prevention and Resolution: Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
- Reporting: Ensure that reporting documentation is generated and maintained in accordance with contract requirements and JCA policies.
- Site Meetings: Attend site meetings as directed by the Contract Manager.
- Progress Reporting: Liaise with other stakeholders during meetings and provide evidence-based site progress reports, including photos, 2-week look ahead, issues log, and risks register.
- Material Management: Undertake take offs, material selection, and order materials in accordance with the JCA set procedures.
- Site Stock Management: Ensure correct storage of materials and that site stock is maintained to allow daily operations.
- Design and Installation: Review site reports, designs, and drawings and provide practical feedback on installation methods and improvements in line with best practice.
- Site Challenges: Liaise with site team and identify and site challenges, identify and implement systems to resolve.
- Software and Hardware: Use of construction company issued software/hardware applications to record progress, snagging, diaries, and checklists.
- Contract Programme Management: Manage and understand the contract programme and produce short-term/medium-term updates as required.
- Contract Reporting: Report on overall operation of their programme, labour, opportunities, health and safety, and any other matter that may arise in contract reports and to the business as required.
- Subcontractor Management: Responsibility for the subcontractor site-based project documentation, items such as RAMS, permits, void closures.
- Subcontractor Liaison: Responsibility to meet with subcontractors on site progress, resource allocation, and health safety performance. Provide motivation and leadership to the workforce throughout the project.
- Site Welfare: Will be responsible for site welfare, to ensure it is effectively managed and clean at all times in accordance with all statutory and company requirements.
- Site Diary: Create and maintain and update daily site diary with full information on activities, staff, conditions, operations, etc.
- Site Equipment and Registers: Responsibility for creating and maintaining site equipment and registers. Responsibility for creating and maintaining site plant and registers.
- Site Materials Management: Responsibility for managing site materials including security and appropriate storage.
- Site Security: Responsibility for the general security of the site, including access, security gates, securing perimeter at end of shift, etc.
- HSE Audits: Responsibility for HSE audits (Checklists) and ensuring any actions are closed out in accordance with company procedures.
- Site Inductions: Undertake site Inductions for all staff and record required documentation.
- Tool-Box Talks: Undertake daily briefings, tool-box talks, and record as required.
- Snag Lists: Operate and maintain snag lists as required and liaise with supply chain to close out and record closed out.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Electrical / Mechanical / Fit Out Project Manager who possesses the following qualifications and experience:
- Construction and Engineering Qualification: NVQ Level 3, HNC – preferable but not essential.
- CITB SSSTS Certificate: Holder (or approved equivalent)
- IOSH Supervising Safely: Certificate holder
- CSCS Card: Holder relevant to role
- First Aid at Work: Certificate holder
- Project Management Experience: Can demonstrate supervision of projects of a comparable size, value, and in a comparable industry or market sector.
- Leadership and Management Style: Can demonstrate leadership and management style in keeping with JCA's brand image.
- Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the construction and engineering industry's statutory requirements, methods, and processes.
- Communication Skills: Good communication both verbally and written.
- Teamwork: Ability to work well within a team as well as independently.
- Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence
