About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at NELFT North East London Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will play a vital role in providing specialist psychological input to patients referred to our Cancer Psychological Therapies service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual, family, and group psychological input to patients with cancer.
  • Support the service in managing its waiting list and ensuring timely access to psychological support.
  • Contribute to delivering Level 2 Clinical Discussion Groups for Cancer Nurse Specialists and Level 2 training across NEL.
  • Offer staff support and consultation to members of the wider oncology, haematology, and palliative care teams.
Requirements
  • Doctoral level training or equivalent in Clinical/Counselling Psychology or equivalent psychotherapy qualification.
  • HCPC registration or registration to equivalent psychotherapy body.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and competence when presented with complex, emotive, and distressing problems.
  • Good knowledge of RIO system and clinical functions related to this, such as risk planning, clinical harm reviews, and care planning.
  • Ability to work with autonomy and flexibility within the bounds of the job description and professional competence.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience working within Clinical Health Psychological Services or delivering psychological therapy in physical health services.
  • Experience working with mental health issues and risk.
  • Experience managing a caseload and clinical throughput.
  • Experience delivering psychological therapy to a wide variety of client groups, ages, contexts, and presenting problems.
  • Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings.
