Job Description: Special Educational Needs Tutor

About the School:

LTF Recruitment Ltd is working alongside a mainstream primary school in Merton to recruit a dedicated SEN teaching assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons tailored to students' needs, taking into account their individual requirements and abilities.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs, helping them to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes social interaction and emotional well-being among students.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, using this information to inform teaching strategies and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and staff regarding student development, providing regular updates and feedback.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive school culture.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or special needs support, such as a Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.

Benefits:

The salary for this role is estimated to be between £80-£100 per annum. This is a long-term to permanent position with an ASAP start.
