Senior Geo Engineer

Are you a seasoned Geotechnical or Geo-environmental Engineer looking for a challenging role in a dynamic Geology team in Manchester?

Carrington West is a leading private company specializing in ground-related risk management and building fabric investigation. We offer a range of services nationwide and occasionally overseas.

As a Senior Geo Engineer, you will lead a project team to deliver high-quality ground investigations, providing innovative and sustainable solutions to geoenvironmental and geotechnical consultancy.

You will be responsible for mentoring and developing a team of 5, reviewing project work, and writing quotes. You will also assist the GI Director in business development, enhancing client relationships, and expanding the existing client base.

The Ground Investigation team is multidisciplinary, covering factual reporting, contaminated land risk assessments, and geotechnical appraisal.

The role is based in our Manchester office, with free onsite parking. The position will be predominantly office-based, with some travel required for client meetings, training, and business development.

Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the relevant industry
  • A relevant degree
  • Relevant chartership or working towards it
  • A good understanding of land contamination risk assessment
  • A good understanding of geotechnical analysis
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proactive and positive attitude
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Motivational skills
  • Demonstratable management, leadership, and mentoring skills
  • Full driving license
