Job Title: DevOps / DevSecOps Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled DevOps / DevSecOps Engineer to join our team at Applause IT. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for managing and deploying CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, overseeing cloud infrastructure hosted on AWS, and ensuring the security of our internal hardware and software platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Manage and deploy CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for continuous integration and delivery.
  • Cloud Security: Oversee cloud infrastructure, primarily hosted on AWS, utilising AWS CloudFormation for configuration management, and ensure all company laptops are managed using Microsoft Intune and secured with Defender.
  • DevSecOps: Support DevSecOps processes by integrating security controls within the Azure and AWS environments, and implement and maintain security scanning and vulnerability management tools, including Azure code scanning and AWS GuardDuty.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the development team to support the deployment and security of the software platform hosted on AWS.
Critical Skills and Knowledge
  • Cloud Experience: Experience with both Azure and AWS platforms, particularly in cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Deployment: Proficiency in using Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipeline deployment and management.
  • CloudFormation: Familiarity with AWS CloudFormation and other AWS services related to DevSecOps.
  • Security Knowledge: Understanding of Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Defender for managing and securing internal hardware, and some experience or interest in growing knowledge of cloud security practices.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Fundamentals, or Azure DevOps Engineer) are desirable but not essential.
