Wrexham University seeks to appoint a part-time maternity cover science laboratory technician to support the Applied Sciences department in teaching and research.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for those passionate about science to assist in creating engaging and safe practical learning experiences for students studying across the Applied Sciences area.
The post holder will be responsible for assisting lecturing staff with practicals in the Applied Sciences labs, conducting risk assessments including COSHH and MSDS, maintaining and calibrating equipment, reviewing stock and assets inventory, purchasing consumables, and supervising students conducting practicals and research within the Applied Sciences labs.
A successful candidate will have experience working in a science laboratory and be educated to degree level in a relevant applied science discipline.
Key Responsibilities:- Support lecturing staff with practicals in the Applied Sciences labs
- Conduct risk assessments, maintain equipment, and review inventory
- Purchase consumables and supervise students
We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience. If you are passionate about science education and have the required skills and qualifications, please submit your application.
