Associate Director of Quantity Surveying

NPS is a national, award-winning property consultancy delivering high-profile, inspiring buildings to a range of public and private sector clients across the UK. Our multi-disciplined team provides a number of property services to our clients, undertaking projects of varying size and complexity, resulting in innovative, sustainable, and commercially viable delivery.

We are currently looking to recruit an Associate Director of Quantity Surveying into the team in Norwich. In this role, you will oversee the project delivery of a multi-faceted team, leading the Quantity Surveying service and acting as a key client contact regarding construction contracts, frameworks, and cost items at a strategic level.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead on the delivery of a number of construction projects with our clients, as well as supporting larger collaborative pieces of work within the Group.
  • Provide inspirational leadership, management, and direction in a manner consistent with the Group's values.
  • Act as the professional technical lead at an office level, ensuring that company and working practices are adhered to and delivered to common professional standards that meet client needs.
  • Manage the development and maintenance of local practice procedures via the Best Practice Group.
  • Develop, oversee, and approve project cost estimates and costs plans appropriate to the RIBA stage of a project, and in accordance with NRM2 (or subsequent update).
  • Procure and deliver projects using the most appropriate contract, such as those within the JCT Suite/NEC.
  • Provide regular commercial updates and/or cost reports to project stakeholders, including internal leadership/management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related discipline and/or can demonstrate significant relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of a range of construction contract procedures and financial regulations.
  • Understanding of business planning, commercial risk management, and financial management, with demonstrable success in securing new business opportunities.
  • Proficient in using CostX software (or equivalent product) for measurement and billing (desirable).
  • Familiar with relevant construction, health, and safety legislation and risks and hazards, including the CDM Regulations.
  • Hold a current CSCS site card or prepared to attain.
  • Leadership/management experience.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

We offer a competitive annual salary of £55,000 to £65,000 DoE, 28 days' holiday, plus 8 Bank Holidays, Royal London Pension Scheme, BUPA Health Cash Plan, free parking in our new Head Office, situated next to Norwich airport, flexible and hybrid working arrangements, cycle to work scheme, local benefits including gym memberships and store discounts, and a DBS check will be required for our successful candidate, payment will be met by the employer.
