About the Role

Citi's Issuer Services legal team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced lawyer to join their team. As a Senior Legal Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting the business and ensuring that all legal requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with colleagues in the business and fellow control functions to ensure that deals meet legal criteria and Citi's requirements.
  • Act as an escalation point for in-business transaction managers to assist with specific legal issues or to interpret contractual provisions.
  • Review, negotiate, and approve documents such as NDAs and Powers of Attorney in line with Citi requirements.
  • Instruct and manage external counsel.
  • Support other colleagues in Issuer Services legal globally, including in connection with litigation, defaults, restructurings, and complex issues.
Requirements

You should have experience working as a lawyer in an international legal environment, gained either in a large law firm or financial institution. Debt capital markets experience is ideal, but an attitude that welcomes change and development is more important.

This role is best suited to someone who enjoys:
