Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Support Engineer will provide reactive and preventative maintenance support to our high-speed manufacturing equipment and facilities. This role will ensure maximum equipment availability, performance, and product quality while achieving cost and safety outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide process failure and breakdown support by diagnosing root cause and repairing/recovering equipment performance.
  • Work with production and support staff to achieve consistent line performance in line with Business Unit targets.
  • Utilize analytical tools to generate and assess key performance indicators and complete trend analysis.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to maximize equipment availability and performance.
  • Execute routine safety checks and timely calibration of machines and equipment.
  • Provide training to other Manufacturing Support Teams as required.
  • Participate in cross-functional continuous improvement and new equipment project teams.
  • Support the development of production teams with TPM activities.
Requirements:
  • Quality-oriented with understanding/recognition and compliance to Safe Working Practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong data evaluation/trending and general analytical skills.
  • Ability to operate workshop machine tools.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical/electronic control systems.
  • Ability to interpret and use both Mechanical and Electrical drawings.
  • Working knowledge of PLC systems and associated equipment.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-apprenticeship process support experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding and sound knowledge of PLC-controlled manufacturing platforms.
  • Proven experience in all aspects of engineering principles and techniques.
  • Involvement in Continuous Improvement projects/activities.
  • Time-served Apprenticeship in Mechanical; Electrical/Electronic engineering is an essential requirement.
  • ONC/HNC or similar in Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering preferable.
