We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 7 CNS to join our Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialist team for Acute Oncology at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized patient-centered care for those with a cancer diagnosis and acute unwellness due to cancer or treatment.
- Lead service development and improvement at Brighton and Haywards Heath sites, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure parity of care across all sites.
- Review and improve communication and pathways between teams involved in patient care and management.
- Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' nursing and medical needs.
- Assess complex situations and make clinical decisions regarding care.
- Support patients and colleagues in breaking bad news for new diagnoses or disease progression.
- Contribute to personalized patient care.
- Signpost and refer to services such as physiotherapy, counseling, and palliative care.
- NMC registration.
- Mentorship experience.
- Experience in SACT/RT and Acute Oncology.
