We are seeking a skilled Clinical/Counselling Psychologist/Therapist to join our team at the Central At Risk Mental State (ARMS) service in Newcastle and Gateshead.
The ARMS service provides advice and psychological support to young people who are experiencing unusual experiences or beliefs that cause them distress and affect their everyday functioning. Our team works collaboratively with the Early Intervention in Psychosis service (EIP) across Newcastle and Gateshead.
We are looking for a psychological therapist trained to accreditable level in two models such as CBT and EMDR, or a counselling/clinical psychologist with post-doctoral specialist training in one model to an accreditable level. It is desirable for the postholder to have secondary care experience, though we would consider applications on a case-by-case basis and welcome informal enquiries.
The successful candidate will provide specialist assessments and psychological therapy, as well as contributing to research, training, and service development. They will have the opportunity to be part of developing, promoting, and evaluating the ARMS service in our area and will link regularly with other ARMS and EIP colleagues for support.
The post holder will be clinically and professionally supervised by a principal clinical psychologist and a consultant clinical psychologist. They will also join a wider psychological service of about 15 therapists that serves the adult community teams across the Central CBU.
