About the Role: M-Tec Engineering Solutions is a leading supplier of recruitment solutions to the Automotive and General Engineering sectors. We are currently looking for an experienced Tool Maker to join our team in Shropshire.

Job Description: The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining existing tooling, identifying day-to-day issues, and implementing corrective action. They will also ensure all production tooling is safe and ready for use, following the correct preventative maintenance process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation and maintenance of existing tooling according to requirements
• Effective identification of day-to-day tooling issues and implementation of corrective action where required
• Cleaning of all production tooling to ensure on-time delivery and schedule adherence goals are met
• Ensuring all tooling is safe and production-ready at the time returned for production use, following the correct preventative maintenance (PM) process
• Supporting coordination of engineering changes and supporting maintenance of spare parts
• Preparing and testing tools by laying out / setting up / machining
• Designing and making tools/templates to produce prototype parts of various materials, including generating bill of material and complete fabrication and validation
• Verifying conformance of machined and/or repaired tools to specifications by checking dimensions / clearances / alignments
• Making parts of various plant machines and tools as required
• Fitting and assembling parts and testing completed tools for proper operation
• Setting up and carefully monitoring tools and performing inspections prior to removing tooling from the machine
• Following up repair work by seeking feedback from the production and quality departments and completing a record of the work undertaken
• Promoting the company's HSE policies across the department and plant

Requirements: A minimum of an Apprenticeship and familiarity with die casting processes are essential for this role.
