We are currently seeking a Mechanical Systems Design Engineer to support the activities of Engineers in the Fluid Systems Team for our client in the nuclear industry, working on a nuclear new build project. Based out of Bristol, this staff/permanent role requires basic security clearance (BPSS).

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing, reviewing and updating system documentation for mechanical and thermos-hydraulic design, operator instructions, human machine interface, safety and environmental control logic design as well as periodic testing in compliance with engineering rules, methodologies, quality processes and tools.
  • Instrumentation and control: performing analysis for defining I&C functional requirements of the system and production of Instrumentation & Control logic.
  • Mechanical design: sizing components e.g pumps, fans, pipework, pressure relief valves, tanks, performing thermal-hydraulic calculation and modelling with in house or commercial tools, ensuring 3D model consistency with intended system design, formulating equipment specification and providing data accordingly.

Estimated salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
