Morrison Energy Services is a leading provider of energy services in the UK, with a strong presence in York. As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be part of our Commercial team, responsible for managing all commercial aspects of projects.

Job Description

The role involves compiling relevant information for reports and claims, assisting with the implementation of commercial applications, and developing lasting relationships with Business Unit and Project Managers. You will also be responsible for constant risk assessment, sub-contractor management, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

2. Compile relevant information for preparation of reports and claims to agreed timescales.">
3. Assist with the ongoing implementation of the commercial application in respect of site personnel at all times.">
4. Constantly refer to the project risk management plan for thorough, accurate, high-level risk assessment.">
5. Monitor the register and any related documentation in accordance with the plan.">
6. Ultimate responsibility for all sub-contractor management.">
7. Ensure all sub-contractors and suppliers have submitted compliant quotations, inquiries, and applications within the timescale required.">
8. Actively increase knowledge of commercial issues and contract law.">
9. Actively suggest and develop processes for increased accuracy and efficiency.">
10. Liaison with the Commercial Manager and Quantity Surveyor(s) to ensure appropriate commercial cover is maintained.">
11. Assist the team and Project Manager, Engineers, and Planners with regard to recovery of contract costs.">
12. Develop sound and balanced negotiating skills.">
13. Attend when requested handover and progress meetings.">
14. Help produce a site commercial manual and documents to record variations.">
15. Undertake monthly reporting for both client and internal ensuring comprehensive variance analysis.">

8. Previous experience in Quantity Surveying.">
9. Contract experience, capturing site records for variations and valuations; supporting a project team.">
10. Sub Contract Management.">
11. Cost value reconciliation.">
12. Qualification in Quantity Surveying.">
13. Knowledge of the industry.">
