Event Support Role


We are seeking a skilled AV technology specialist to join our events team at The Francis Crick Institute.


As an AV technology specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support for all events, including conferences, seminars, and public engagement events.


Key responsibilities include setting up and operating AV equipment, configuring audio and lighting systems, and troubleshooting any technical issues that may arise during events.


You will work closely with the Comms and Public Engagement team to design and implement AV solutions for events, and provide on-site technical support during events.


In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory of AV equipment, ensuring that all necessary items are available for upcoming events and properly stored after use.


To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of AV technology, including sound and lighting systems, and experience working in a fast-paced events environment.


You will also need to be able to work effectively in a team, communicate technical information to non-technical staff, and be flexible to work evenings and weekends as required.

Requirements



  • Relevant qualification in AV technology, sound engineering, lighting or related fields
  • Experience working in the field either academic, corporate AV or live event production
  • Strong understanding of AV equipment, including sound desks, lighting desks, cameras and video mixers for live events
  • Experience with H&S regulations for rigging in an event environment
  • Capacity to work long hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules
