Mechanical Power Transmission Category Leader

Job Title: Head of Mechanical Power TransmissionWe are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Head of Mechanical Power Transmission. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the commercial strategy for the category, including defining the category proposition, setting and executing promotion strategy, and driving procurement.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical knowledge of the Mechanical Power Transmission, Bearings, Linear category, products, and application, as well as a strong understanding of the industry, markets, trends, & developments, and different suppliers in the categories and main characteristics / differences.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive commercial strategy for the Mechanical Power Transmission category
- Lead a high-performing team responsible for product management, strategic procurement, and business development
- Manage the development and capabilities of category team members
- Owning the Mechanical Power Transmission, Bearings, Linear P&L and driving actions to manage and improve it
- Defining core suppliers and brands
- Defining product assortment
- Defining sell-out price strategy
- Gathering and providing market intelligence
- Establishing relationships with suppliers
- Driving product innovation within existing offerings
- Ideating and implementing sales initiatives (e.g., campaigns, training, sales enablers, etc)
- Driving category sell-out; secondarily, reaching expected levels of stock turn
- Supporting quotes, tenders, and special projects
- Identifying opportunities for cross-sell, OEM conversion, and value creation
- Addressing overall product queries from sales networks and customers
- Continuously reviewing industry/market trends and developments to ensure that the category strategy is current and driving business growth
- Keeping up-to-date with category knowledge, products, and application
- Ensuring management of supplier and product data end-to-end
- Leading strong relationships with relevant suppliers.
- Managing and establishing standardized contract frameworks and T&Cs
- Own commercial terms with suppliers (rebate, price support, etc)
- Excellent technical knowledge of the Mechanical Power Transmission, Bearings, Linear category, products, and application
- Strong understanding of the industry, markets, trends, & developments
- Different suppliers in the categories and main characteristics / differences
- Ability to set and implement product strategy
- Ability to liaise with different stakeholders in the organization
- Ability to liaise with suppliers and customers at a senior level
- Budgeting and financial management
- Ability to manage a P&L and drive sales & margin
- Data management and analysis
