Job Description:

This is a long-term, full-time teaching assistant position at a secondary school in Formby. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and other support staff to provide a supportive learning environment for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) in KS3 and KS4 classes
  • Working one-to-one and in groups with students
  • Assisting with lesson planning and delivery
  • Managing classroom behavior and promoting positive relationships
  • Providing administrative support as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A full DBS check or the ability to obtain one
  • At least 1 year of experience working as a teaching assistant in a secondary school
  • Experience working with SEN pupils/children
  • Ability to support with maths and English
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
