About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Thoracic Surgeon to join our team at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our surgical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Consultant Thoracic Surgeon services, ensuring effective and efficient clinical practice and monitoring of clinical care.
  • Work collaboratively with the Clinical Management Group to deliver services efficiently and in line with best practice.
  • Take responsibility for reporting critical clinical incidents in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the yearly appraisal and job planning process.
  • Undertake Mandatory and Statutory training as determined by the Trust and Clinical Management Group.
Requirements
  • MB BS or Equivalent Higher degree: MD, PhD or equivalent.
  • Full GMC Registration.
  • FRCS or Equivalent.
  • Fully Accredited for Higher Specialist Training or eligible for inclusion on the Specialist Register within 6 months of the interview date.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Fully trained in vascular and endovascular surgery.
  • Excellent clinical skills and experience requisite to meeting all aspects of the Job Plan.
  • Ability to apply sound clinical judgment to problems.
  • Ability to undertake peripheral and aortic endovascular interventions independently.
  • Demonstrates clear, logical thinking and analytical approach.
