Job Title: Senior Capital Actuary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Capital Actuary to join our team at Admiral Insurance Plc. As a key member of our actuarial team, you will play a crucial role in the coordination and provision of regulatory and economic capital requirements for Solvency reporting and model use purposes.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the production of regulatory requirements to support reporting needs, as well as the internal view of economic capital.
  • Engage with key stakeholders on internal model-related matters as required.
  • Support the development of the Internal Model in line with the Admiral Model Change Policy, including Igloo code changes, parameter changes, and governance updates.
  • Assist in the ongoing development of the Calculation Kernel (Igloo coding) and parameterisation processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • Identify and escalate limitations in capital modelling methodologies, processes, and results.

  • Strong leadership qualities and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with staff at all levels across the organisation.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts simply when engaging with other departments and senior management committees.
  • Hard working, committed, and able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances.
  • Effective time management and ability to prioritise work and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Good working knowledge of financial modelling platforms Igloo and Solvency II/UK requirements for internal model firms.
  • Understanding of stochastic modelling concepts and evidence of relevant capital modelling experience.
  • At least years of capital modelling experience within the personal lines insurance sector, Motor and Household.
  • Experience of managing/mentoring junior members.
  • Good commercial awareness and ability to apply capital modelling principles to inform business decisions.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Actuary qualification desired.
