We are seeking compassionate and empowering individuals to provide care and support for children and young people who are unable to live with their families.

About the Role:

As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will be part of a team that provides a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people who have experienced trauma and adversity.

You will work closely with colleagues to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring the needs of each child are met.

We are looking for someone with a good understanding of the difficulties and challenges that children may face, and the ability to support them to recover, grow and flourish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing care and support to children and young people in a residential setting
  • Developing and implementing individualized care plans
  • Working closely with colleagues to ensure the needs of each child are met
  • Supporting children and young people to achieve their full potential

Requirements:

  • A sound understanding of the developmental needs and milestones for children and young people
  • Ability to communicate, engage and form positive relationships with children and young people, parents, carers and other professionals
  • Ability to produce clear and concise written reports and records to a good standard
  • A valid manual driving licence

Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Check:

We require all Residential Childcare Workers to be subject to a PVG check by Disclosure Scotland and achieve membership of the scheme prior to commencing work with us.

CareTech will cover the cost of this check.

You will also be required to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
