Senior Vulnerability Research Security Specialist

As a key member of our team at the National Physical Laboratory, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge cybersecurity research and development projects. Your expertise in vulnerability research will be instrumental in identifying and mitigating potential security threats to our telecommunications networks.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our small team of vulnerability researchers. Your passion for understanding how things work, testing them, and finding security issues will be essential in driving our research and development activities.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of hardware and software development lifecycles and their impact on security practices. You will also have applied knowledge of cryptographic algorithms, data structures, and network protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth vulnerability research activities to identify potential security threats.
- Develop bespoke leading-edge security testing tools to support vulnerability research activities.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement effective security measures to mitigate potential threats.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies to ensure our research and development activities remain relevant and effective.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of vulnerability research and development principles.
- Applied knowledge of cryptographic algorithms, data structures, and network protocols.
- Experience with security testing tools and techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
