Job Title: Purchasing Manager, Wholesale Non-Food


Job Summary: As a crucial member of the WSH Support Office team, you will be responsible for managing all disposables and consumables categories across WSH operating companies in the UK and Ireland.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Undertake category management in line with WSH supplier tiering system, building on strong supplier relationships and forming new supplier relationships where required.
  • Monitor market developments and innovation to continually align and update sourcing and category strategies, identifying opportunities to create a competitive advantage for the organisation.
  • Draft, negotiate, and agree clear, concise, and complete contractual documentation where required.
  • Work with tier 1 and 2 suppliers to ensure they meet WSH business requirements as defined in the WSH supplier code of conduct.
  • Develop category strategies and effective project pipelines in line with wider organisational strategy and operating company requirements.
  • Establish and maintain an effective network of internal stakeholders to support procurement objectives and aligned decision making.
  • Responsible for maintaining administration across deals, new suppliers, and various trackers.
  • Work with commercial finance team to ensure full compliance with all contract governance activity, process, and timescale KPIs are being met.
  • Support the delivery of WSH ESG targets by ensuring suppliers are in line with WSH standards.
  • Manage cost base effectively through price reviews and benchmarking processes.

Qualifications and Requirements:



  • Strong knowledge of disposables and consumables sourcing and procurement and best practices.
  • Excellent negotiation and networking skills to deliver the best results for the business.
  • Experience with modern sourcing and procurement systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Strategic mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Change management skills and self-awareness to take varying approaches with a dynamic set of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, creativity, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to align supply chain priorities with those of the operating businesses.
