Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for reactive and planned maintenance across all areas of engineering - manufacturing, production, site services, infrastructure, and plant equipment.
  • Hands-on leading the team - workload allocation, PPM planning, managing contractors, H&S.
  • Carry out PPM schedule effectively and efficiently.
  • Involved with site project work - installations and upgrades to machinery.
  • Electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs.
  • Dealing with high-speed food production, processing, and packaging machinery, automation, and controls.
  • PLC - electrical fault finding.
  • Worked on motors, servo drives, sensors, inverters, pneumatics, gearboxes, pumps, compressors.
  • Continuous improvements - suggesting new things, sharing ideas.

Requirements:

  • Previously have led a team hands-on - supervisor, senior engineer, team leader.
  • Have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
  • Be a multi-skilled engineer - ideally with an electrical biased.
  • Must have worked in a food/FMCG manufacturing environment that is fast-paced.
  • Working knowledge of a CMMS system.
  • Be a team player, want proactive individuals.
  • Qualified to HNC level.
  • PLC - electrical fault finding.
  • Able to fault find both electrically and mechanically.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in hot conditions sometimes.
  • Happy working in a time-sensitive busy environment.
  • Have experience with continuous improvements and lean manufacturing.
  • Any qualifications in food hygiene, safety, etc. beneficial.
