Bakery Production Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Bakery Operative to join our team at Allied Bakeries. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating and optimizing our bakery plant and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate semi-automated baking machines to produce high-quality products.
- Deliver product quality through effective use of available systems and processes.
- Contribute to the optimization of production plans, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operation of the production plant.
- Identify and address development and training needs for yourself and your team, participating in a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Continuously challenge and improve manufacturing processes, encouraging others to do the same.
- Participate in cross-functional working processes and procedures to maintain or improve bakery infrastructure standards.
Requirements:
- Basic mechanical empathy and understanding of baking processes.
- Computer literacy and ability to interact with HMI screens.
- Good level of health and food safety awareness.
- Numerical, reading, and information recording skills.
- Advantageous: in-depth understanding of food hygiene/GMP/ABSS standards, NVQ Level 1 or 2 in Performing Mechanical Engineering, Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, and basic understanding of Continuous Improvement tools and techniques.
Working Conditions:
Full-time, permanent role with a 42-hour workweek, working 4 on/4 off basis (2 days, 2 night shifts followed by 4 days off), with 12-hour shifts.
