KBR is offering a full-time opportunity in Yeovil for a skilled mechanical engineer with experience in inspection and calibration of aerospace parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Metrology Principles: Perform inspection of non-metallic & metallic parts using non-contact measurement techniques and general hand tools.
  • First Article Inspection Reports (FAI's): Generate, review and submit reports to AS9102 standard.
  • Dimensional Measuring Equipment: Calibrate equipment, go/no go and acceptance fixtures.
  • Product Support: Provide support to New Product Introduction (NPI) and Product Investigation departments.
  • Training: Train technicians on metrology principles and complicated theory.

Requirements:

  • Mechanical Engineering Qualification: Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship to HNC level or applicable technical training and certifications.
  • Aerospace Experience: Demonstrated experience of working in an inspection role in an aerospace or manufacturing environment.
  • Software Proficiency: Working knowledge of the Discus and Net Inspect programs, proficiency in MS Office and good communication skills.
  • Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence.

Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum
