About the Role

A leading regulated infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial requirements for a portfolio of regional utilities upgrade and maintenance frameworks and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage cost estimation for projects, including replacement, reinforcement, and diversion works.
  • Prepare and present internal commercial reports each month.
  • Undertake day-to-day contract administration, including change management.
  • Negotiate and agree prices, change events, extensions of time claims, and final accounts within required timescales.
  • Build and maintain relationships with contractors and senior stakeholders.
  • Undertake monthly accruals and forecasts for the business.
  • Identify commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering, and change.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' commercial experience across any construction or civil engineering-related industry. They will have a proven ability to interact with, build, and maintain relationships with subcontractors and stakeholders. NEC contract experience is desirable, but not essential. A relevant quantity surveying or commercial management degree is also desirable.
