About this role

We are seeking an experienced Maths tutor to join our team at the Adult College of Barking and Dagenham. As a Maths tutor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning to adult learners, with a focus on GCSE and Functional Skills Maths.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver Maths sessions to adult learners, maintaining a flexible approach to meet the diverse needs of our learners.
  • Plan, develop, and deliver courses effectively, using competent IT skills.
  • Hold a recognised teaching qualification (Level 3 as a minimum) and be willing to work towards Level 4 or above.
  • Have experience in teaching innovative and inclusive Maths sessions to adult learners.
  • Be able to motivate, support, and develop every learner through outstanding teaching and learning to achieve a successful outcome in their Maths studies.

Requirements

  • A subject-specific qualification or equivalent industry experience.
  • Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with colleagues and learners.
