Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Blood Sample Collector to join our team at AdventHealth Manchester. As a key member of our laboratory, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients and preparing them for laboratory analysis.

About the Job:

  1. Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture and skin puncture techniques.
  2. Prepare blood samples for laboratory analysis by following established protocols.
  3. Send specimens to reference laboratories for additional testing as needed.
  4. Register patients, interpret and order physician test requests.
  5. Identify and band patients for blood product transfusion.
  6. Maintain accurate documentation, including accessioning logs, equipment records, and checklists.
  7. Maintain adequate supply inventories and ensure supplies are viable prior to use for patient collection.

Education and Experience:

  1. High School Education or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Associate's degree or Technical degree in a related field.
  2. One year of technical experience.
