About the Job:

The Registered Nurse plays a critical role in providing high-quality patient care in our emergency department.


We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team of healthcare professionals. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients, enhancing their quality of life and collaborating with other healthcare providers to achieve optimal outcomes.


Your primary duties will include:

  • Providing individualized patient care, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient plans
  • Collaborating with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Maintaining accurate records and documenting patient information
  • Participating in ongoing education and professional development to enhance clinical skills and knowledge

This is a casual opportunity, which means hours are not guaranteed and may vary. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings, including permanent and temporary positions. We have many opportunities within Interior Health that begin with casual employment and lead to regular employment.


Shifts of work will be scheduled across days, evenings, and nights, rotating between 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00, and 10:00 to 22:00 hours.


About this location/unit:

Kootenay Lake Hospital is a Level 1 Community Hospital offering services, including surgical, inpatient, and emergency care. It has 36 acute beds and an operating room. Our emergency room sees approximately 12,000 visits per year.
