Job Opportunity: Rolling Stock Engineer - Consultancy Role

Salary: £35-40k + Overtime + Annual Bonus

Location: Flexible (1-3 days off-site, office-based remainder)

Contract: Full-Time or Part-Time

We are seeking an experienced Rolling Stock Technician to join our consultancy team as a Rolling Stock Engineer. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in inspecting and assessing fleet performance and maintenance, spending 1-3 days per week on-site with clients.

About the Role:

As a Rolling Stock Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Inspecting and evaluating the condition of rolling stock assets
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications
  • Assisting in the preparation and review of maintenance documentation
  • Working with our consultancy team on technical projects and fleet management strategies
  • Providing technical expertise for asset management and improvement projects

Key Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

  • Inspecting, assessing, and evaluating the condition of rolling stock assets physically
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications
  • Assisting in the preparation and review of maintenance documentation
  • Working with our consultancy team on technical projects and fleet management strategies
  • Providing technical expertise for asset management and improvement projects

Skills & Experience Required:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience as a Rolling Stock Technician or a similar role in the rail industry
  • Strong understanding of fleet maintenance, inspections, and assessments
  • Familiarity with technical documentation and industry standards
  • Problem-solving mindset with an eye for detail
  • Ability to work both independently on-site and collaboratively in the office
