About the Role:

As a Specialist Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for managing a team of dedicated pharmacy staff, including students, support workers, and other dispensary-based staff. Your key duties will include:

  • Managing the operational aspects of the dispensary service to ensure efficient and cost-effective medication supply.
  • Acting as a leader within the relevant setting and supervising staff on a day-to-day basis.
  • Overseeing the ordering and supply of controlled stationery to maintain a safe and secure service.
  • Ensuring optimum use of pharmacists allocated to dispensary duties via direct supervision.
  • Assessing training needs and providing competency-based training to pharmacy staff.

Person Specification:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • BTEC level 3 in pharmaceutical science or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Experience in management within pharmaceutical services and knowledge of medicines management services within an NHS context.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload effectively.
