Job Description

Job Title: Manufacturing / Assembly Technician

Company: Wymbs Engineering Ltd

Location: Stockport, North West England

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £18/hour depending on experience

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing / Assembly Technician to join our team at Wymbs Engineering Ltd. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for the assembly and testing of complex machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the workshop supervisor to prepare machined and purchased components for assembly
  • Assemble multiple part assemblies and perform benchwork, deburring, and grinding tasks
  • Assist in finished machine testing and product trials
  • Box and ship assembled machines and spare parts
  • Manage material flow through the workshop and document processes and time/costs
  • Perform quality checks on components and alert the shop foreman to any assembly issues
  • Contribute to general workshop housekeeping duties

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working in a similar environment and knowledge of engineering drawings
  • Experience in rotating machinery assembly, bearings, and power transmission
  • Knowledge of pumps and motor/gearbox set-ups
  • Assembly of close-fitting and tight-tolerance machined components
  • Conveyor assemblies and set-ups
  • Time-served and educated to NVQ level 3 or HNC in an engineering discipline or past relevant experience
