About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Trusts and Foundations Officer to join our fundraising team at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability, a leading charity providing care and support to adults with neurological disabilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and skilled fundraiser to contribute to the charity's ambitious fundraising strategy, working closely with the Senior Trusts Fundraiser and the Trusts and Major Gifts Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prospect Research: Conduct thorough research on trusts and foundations to identify new funding opportunities and develop a pipeline of potential supporters.
  2. Planning: Work closely with the Trusts and Major Gifts Manager to develop annual income plans, including projections and application timelines.
  3. Annual Trusts Mailing: Coordinate and execute the charity's annual trusts mailing, including collating recipient lists, writing and sending updates, and acknowledging gifts.
  4. Administration: Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of fundraising activity on Raiser's Edge, using spreadsheets to track planned applications, projected income, and secured income.
  5. Information Gathering: Develop a deep understanding of funding requirements for the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability, including budgeted funds and gift allocation.
  6. Events: Support the wider fundraising team in hosting and preparing for events, including occasional evening and weekend work.
Requirements
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • At least 12 months' experience in trusts fundraising, with a proven track record of developing a trusts pipeline and securing funds.
  • Excellent prospect research, profile creation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and a fundraising database such as Raiser's Edge.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and think creatively.
  • Strong communication skills, with excellent written and verbal style.
  • Empathy for and understanding of the work of the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability and its values.
