About the Role:
The Environmental Sustainability Facilitator will play a crucial role in leading a team of prisoners in waste management and sustainability initiatives. The role involves managing waste collection and disposal operations, promoting skills development through WAMITAB qualifications, and supporting the prison's sustainability targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of prisoners in waste management processes, providing guidance and support to ensure successful outcomes.
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve the prison's sustainability targets, including reducing waste, increasing recycling rates, and eliminating single-use plastics.
- Collaborate with contractors and external partners to deliver effective waste management services and promote best practices.
- Conduct regular health and safety assessments and enforce safe work practices across waste management operations.
- Provide training and support to prisoners to develop their skills and confidence in waste management and sustainability.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, promoting collaboration and mutual respect among team members.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, monitoring progress and identifying areas for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in waste management and sustainability.
Estimated Salary: £28,000 - £38,000 per annum
