About the Role


We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Specialist to join our team at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced professional to develop their expertise in complex safeguarding and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.


Job Summary


The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise in pediatric safeguarding, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a specialist service that provides holistic health assessments, physical and mental health support, advocacy, and police interviews led by clinical psychologists.


Responsibilities


The Pediatric Specialist will be responsible for:



  • Providing clinical leadership and expertise in pediatric safeguarding
  • Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people
  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve safeguarding practices and reduce harm to vulnerable children
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic health assessments and interventions
  • Leading on the development and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures

Requirements


To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • A strong background in pediatrics and experience in safeguarding
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Knowledge of local and national safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Demonstrable commitment to advancing equality, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace

What We Offer


We offer a competitive salary of £85,000-£105,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a range of benefits including pension scheme, annual leave, and opportunities for professional development.
