Senior Civil Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our team at Morson Talent. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering civil and structural engineering work packages to the required scope, quality, schedule, and cost.
Key Responsibilities- Manage technical aspects of engineering packages from identification of need to handover.
- Agree project-related objectives, manage designer performance, and make technical management responses.
- Ensure design documentation covers scope of operations required by Project Manager and is produced to agreed standards, schedule, and budget.
- Operate and deliver through compliance with our clients' Business Management System and Technical Manual.
- Ensure processes and activities being managed are appropriately documented with appropriate records maintained and configuration and quality controls applied.
- Ensure staff and contractors are familiar with hazards and risks associated with work undertaken by delegated engineering team through effective management and communication of Risk Assessment.
- Design and substantiation of heavy civil engineering and building structures, particularly experience in dock structures preferred.
- Knowledge of architectural design of industrial buildings.
- Knowledge of building services design and installation.
- Preferably experience of relevant seismic codes for satisfying Nuclear Safety Functions.
- Preferably knowledge of construction techniques employed for Nuclear Safety-related structures and buildings.
- Ability to demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills required in technical management of complex design development throughout design lifecycle.
- Track record in Structural/Civil design in comparable environment.
- Experience working in multi-discipline environment with multiple interfaces.
- Sound understanding of engineering design and safety practice as relevant to discipline, post, and project requirements.
- Sound understanding of procedures relating to Design, Health & Safety, and Quality requirements, and ability to manage projects in accordance with these procedures.
- Preferably experience of design support to construction, operation, refit/repair of conventional and nuclear submarines and/or facilities.
- Professional level of competence in generation of documentation, calculation, and drawings (CAD by others).
- Working knowledge of relevant engineering computer applications.
- Ability to follow engineering process and maintain accurate records and document/drawing revision control.
- Proven track record in completing work packages in highly regulated environment desirable.
- Candidate will have degree or equivalent in Civil or Structural engineering-related discipline.
- Preferably Chartered Engineer status and member of relevant institution or significant demonstrable engineering experience and capable of registration with the Engineering Council at CEng level.
