Job Overview

Bellrock Property and Facilities Management is seeking an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join our team. As a key member of our Building Surveying department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality surveying services to our clients.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Senior Building Surveyor with a strong background in building surveying work on residential and public sector properties. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing instructions and projects, collating and writing reports, contributing to the team's skill base, and collaborating with external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage client projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Collate and write comprehensive reports on building condition, defect diagnosis, and planned maintenance schedules.
  • Contribute to the development of efficient working practices within the team, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, including clients, architects, and contractors, to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Produce tender documents, specifications, preambles, and preliminaries using NBS or similar packages.
  • Identify potential risks and develop robust mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Communicate progress and forecasts to clients, providing regular updates and management reports.
  • Attend site visits and internal/external meetings as required.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation affecting properties managed by our clients.

Requirements

  • Fully Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) with a minimum of two years post-qualification experience.
  • Building Surveying degree from a UK university accredited by the RICS.
  • Demonstrable experience in technical due diligence surveys, defect diagnosis, and planned maintenance schedules.
  • Strong understanding of contract administration, fire safety, and building safety projects.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office packages.
  • Full clean driving license.
