The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical assessment of electrical designs, spearheading optimization strategies, and aiding in the expansion of our solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS) portfolio. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing for both office and remote work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Project Engineers and Development teams with electrical engineering challenges.
  • Deliver electrical design contributions for photovoltaic (PV) and BESS projects.
  • Draft Employer's Requirements for electrical components in solar PV and BESS initiatives.
  • Encourage standardization in electrical designs to minimize capital and operational expenditures.
  • Create comprehensive documentation, including detailed design specifications.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to determine electrical equipment specifications.
  • Assess electrical calculations and designs for PV installations.
  • Engage in project discussions and interact with external partners.
  • Offer technical support throughout project development phases.
  • Review electrical designs submitted by contractors to ensure compliance with employer's requirements.
  • Mentor and guide junior electrical engineers.

Candidate Profile:

  • BEng degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the design and construction phases of power generation projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of grid connections for power generators.
  • Proficient in electrical design tools (e.g., AUTOCAD, PowerFactory).
  • Extensive understanding of PV and BESS technologies.
  • Experience in optimizing designs for PV and BESS plants.
  • Adept at translating engineering challenges into capital and operational cost estimates.
  • Familiarity with international electrical standards applicable to PV and BESS.
  • Commissioning experience is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to make informed decisions in a dynamic environment.
  • A collaborative team player with a positive mindset, resilience, and adaptability, capable of thriving under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
