Job Title: Electrical Automation Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Automation Technician to join our Automation Control team at BAE Systems - UK. As an Electrical Automation Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support to existing systems, modifying PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems, and documenting amendments in line with BMS requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical support to existing systems to support operations
  • Modifying PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems, and documenting the amendments in line with BMS requirements
  • Updating/upgrading existing control systems and modifying existing processes to add new functionality
  • Performing planning maintenance activities and maintaining system backups
  • Responding to breakdowns and completing breakdown reports to support maintenance in the creation of Planned Predictive Maintenance plans
  • Providing support to the roll out of security driven changes, and acting as a liaison between operations and security teams
  • Working within high standards of Health and Safety, whilst ensuring the quality of the product is maintained
  • Leading and supporting Continuous Improvement activities and initiatives

Requirements:

  • Time served - 4 Year Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or similar) Apprenticeship
  • Experience and demonstrated knowledge of programming PLC, and HMI systems
  • Proficiency and ability to program robotic systems
  • Background in working with automated manufacturing processes
