Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced midwife to join our team in the Antenatal Day Unit and Consultant-Led ANC, including a Fetal medicine ANC. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing screening tests and effective monitoring of pregnancies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in midwifery and be able to work autonomously within the department/team within Trust guidelines and sphere of professional practice.

Main Duties of the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Working in the Antenatal Day Unit and Consultant-Led ANC, including a Fetal medicine ANC
  • Performing screening tests and effective monitoring of pregnancies
  • Supporting, supervising and teaching less experienced staff in the department and relevant clinical and non-clinical procedures and practices

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications

Essential Criteria

  • NMC registered Midwife

Desirable Criteria

  • Midwifery Degree or working towards
  • NMC Registered Adult Nurse
  • Evidence of post registration development in Midwifery
  • NHS Leadership training
  • Management qualification
  • Qualified sign off Mentor or willingness to undertake

Occupational Experience

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of managing a team or area, or experience of being 'in charge' of a shift
  • Successfully completed preceptor ship package or demonstrable equivalent competencies and skills (Band 6)
