Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Sheffield. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons to pupils with Special Educational Needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for pupils.
  • Provide one-to-one support to pupils with Special Educational Needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.
  • Contribute to the development of resources and materials to support pupils with Special Educational Needs.
Requirements:
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of working with pupils with Special Educational Needs, including those with moderate learning difficulties, autistic spectrum disorder, and behavioural and emotional difficulties.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to work effectively with challenging behaviour.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents.
  • Good Maths, English, and ICT skills, with the ability to use technology to support teaching and learning.
