We are seeking an experienced clinical specialist to lead our adult community speech and language therapy team.

About the Role
  • This is a challenging and rewarding position for someone who wants to combine their clinical and managerial skills.
  • You will be responsible for leading a team of speech and language therapists, including Band 7/6/5 staff and SLT assistants.
About the Team

The team you will be leading works closely with adult community therapy leads, supported by the Therapies Service Manager, and liaises with acute colleagues at both The North Middlesex Hospital and The Royal Free Foundation NHS Trust.

About You
  • To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience working in a similar environment and hold a relevant qualification in speech and language therapy.
  • You should also have strong leadership and management skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • You will be responsible for managing your own caseload within this specialty, working without direct supervision.
  • You will also ensure that appropriate supervision is in place for all staff.
  • You will work in partnership with the Trust's Quality Improvement lead to identify the need for audit, evaluation and research projects, coordinating their implementation to further own and team's performance.
  • You will lead the implementation of specific changes to practice and service protocols for the team.
  • You will work with the AHP Lead and other lead therapists across the Trust to develop and implement a Trust wide AHP strategy which develops and strengthens networks across the Trust and beyond with relevant professional groups.
