Job Description

**Electrical/Electronic Engineer - Missile Systems Specialist**

We are seeking an experienced Electrical/Electronic Engineer to join our team as a Missile Systems Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for the electrical architecture and requirements for missiles and/or their associated launcher systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specify and determine system electrical requirements.
  • Define interface definitions and characteristics between subsystems/equipment.
  • Develop power architecture, including power budget and power profiles.
  • Design data communication and processing architecture.
  • Ensure compliance with EMC, bonding, grounding, and screening requirements.
  • Route safety-related signals.
  • Support test and fault-finding activities during compatibility checks, risk reduction, system proving/qualification, and integration.
  • Review and author reports, guidelines, and processes.
  • Conduct design assessments and analysis.
  • Work to defence/industry standards.
  • Attend and support design reviews.

Additional Responsibilities (Equipment Manager):

  • Project manage equipment on behalf of the project during development, qualification, and manufacture.
  • Own requirements on behalf of the project for the equipment.
  • Produce Statements of Work for the associated design authority for the equipment.
  • Create and update plans showing activities for the equipment.
  • Manage internal and external design authorities for delivery of the equipment hardware, software, and deliverables to schedule, cost, quality, and performance.
  • Hold regular progress reviews with the design authority for the equipment.
  • Review qualification verification evidence.
  • Track and find resolution to equipment non-compliances.
  • Attend and support design reviews.

Requirements:

  • Electrical/Electronics expertise.
  • Interface definitions knowledge.
  • Defence/industry standards knowledge.
  • Systems engineering skills.
  • Defence-related background (or proven ability in other engineering industries).
  • Knowledge of weapon systems, power supplies, actuators, data communication, sensors, EMC, HUMS, and MBE (desirable).
