Cold Store Operative Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cold Store Operative to join our team at Ardo. As a key member of our warehouse team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our cold store environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Loading and unloading vehicles with ride-on pallet trucks
  • Unloading containers with loose cases
  • Locating and retrieving pallets into and out of the racking using a reach truck
  • Case handling when re-working stock or picking orders
  • Checking in receipted goods
  • Completing picking and loading documents when picking and loading orders for despatch
  • Using a counterbalance truck to unload, move pallets and using the clamp attachment to de-top cases off of pallets
Teamwork and Communication:
  • Lead by example and take a hands-on operational approach
  • Ensure a close working relationship between members of the team within the department and site
  • Be proactive in helping other departments find solutions to problems
  • Maintain a high level of communication with colleagues to ensure efficient team working
Customer Care:
  • Achieve personal KPIs
  • Ensure and maintain quality of the product
  • Eliminate non-conformances (job right first time)
Responsibilities and Expertise:
  • Constantly strive to increase operational performance
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy
  • Good working knowledge of routine and any machine operations
  • Optimize efficiency while maintaining and improving standards
  • Liaise with engineering on preventative maintenance and breakdowns to minimize downtime of equipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Compliance:
  • Constant attention to safe working practices, your own as well as that of other team members
  • Personally adhere to all prescribed working practices to ensure the cold store operates to the highest of standards and efficiency possible
  • Personally comply with all policies, procedures, and risk assessments relevant to role and responsibilities
  • Implement effective corrective actions to address any shortcomings
