Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (SEMH)

Leader Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at a co-education secondary school provision for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role

We are looking for an individual who can provide high-quality support to students with complex needs, working closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in lessons and activities, providing individualized support to students as needed
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on best practices and policies
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective support system
Requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adaptability and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students
  • A good knowledge of EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans)
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • Understanding of the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
