Bookkeeping Assistant Role

Gregory Martin International is currently looking for an experienced Bookkeeping Assistant to join its Winchester-based team. This permanent, full-time or part-time (30+ hours per week) position requires a minimum of 2 years' UK experience in either practice or industry, or being part way through studying towards an ACCA or ACA, or holding at least AAT qualifications.

With hybrid (up to 2 days per week remote work) and flexible working options, this role offers a competitive salary of approximately £35,000, plus an excellent benefits package.

Responsibilities:

  • Record and post daily financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve any discrepancies found within the accounts.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, preparing payments, and maintaining supplier records.
  • Provide support for ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
  • Oversee balance sheet management and reconciliation.
  • Prepare draft financial statements, including trial balance, profit and loss, and balance sheet.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' UK experience in either practice or industry.
  • ACCA or ACA or at least AAT qualified.
  • Full driving license for occasional travel to other locations.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, especially MS Excel.
