Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at The Christie NHS FT. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, with a bias towards plumbing and HVAC.
Main Duties
The Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day repairs, PPM and operational testing of a wide range of building services and equipment located at the Trust. This will include:
- Service, test, diagnose, repair and calibrate advanced mechanical, electrical and electronic installations, plant and equipment.
- Use and understanding of the building engineering management system.
- Attain competent person training in line with HTM 04.
- Carry out performance testing of water and drainage systems as and when required.
- Attend to fire calls and communicate with Fire Officers.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a recognized apprenticeship to City and Guild/NVQ level 3 standard/BTEC-OHC/HNC or equivalent in domestic and commercial plumbing. They will also have relevant post-apprentice training and experience in NHS buildings and building engineering services.
Skills and Knowledge
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and electronic systems within building engineering services. They will also have good communication skills, be able to prioritize work and have a flexible approach to working within an acute patient care hospital.
