Job Introduction

Mental Health Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Female Support Worker to join our team in the Bessacar area of Doncaster. The successful candidate will be supporting a young gentleman in his 20's who has a diagnosis of Paranoid Schizophrenia alongside an Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

Role Description – Mental Health Support Worker

The gentleman we will be supporting lives independently in his own home and requires 1:1 support 24 hours a day. He has a good sense of humour and enjoys the company of his support staff and regular outings in his mobility vehicle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality support to the gentleman, promoting his independence and well-being.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as personal care and medication management.
  • Support the gentleman in accessing the community and engaging in activities that promote his physical and mental health.
  • Work collaboratively with the gentleman's care team to develop and implement a personalized care plan.
  • Contribute to a safe and supportive living environment, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Full UK Driving License – Essential.
  • Social care experience, ideally within mental health and with some experience of supporting individuals with Schizophrenia.
  • Experience providing encouragement to a person with complex health needs and Learning Disabilities.
  • Experience supporting individuals with behaviours which may be considered challenging.
  • Experience implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments.
  • Current Right to Work in the UK and have been employed in the UK for at least 6 months.
  • Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
