About the Role

We are seeking a confident and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a school in Thornbury. The successful candidate will work with learners aged 2 – 19 who have severe learning disabilities (SLD) or profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). In addition, learners may have autistic spectrum conditions, hearing / visual impairments or physical disabilities.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with complex educational, medical and behavioural needs and be passionate about helping others. If you are looking for a new role supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing support to learners with complex needs
  • Assisting with daily living activities and personal care
  • Participating in educational and therapeutic programs
  • Working collaboratively with the teaching staff and other professionals

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications and training for this role
  • Experience working with vulnerable youth
  • Ability to work as part of a team
