Category Manager

As a Category Manager at Michael Page (UK), you will play a crucial role in driving procurement excellence and delivering breakthrough performance in cost, service, and quality. Your key responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities:- Category Management Strategy: Develop and implement a category management strategy to deliver effective procurement and support the management of key supplier relationships.
- Procurement Activities: Lead large procurement activities, delivering savings and other optimal outcomes of a tactical (cost reduction) and strategic nature in a challenging healthcare environment.
- Stakeholder Management: Demonstrate change management and stakeholder management skills across decentralized business units, seeking out and engaging internal and external stakeholders at Senior Manager level to provide information and insight to support the development of strategic options within categories.
- Contract Management: Work closely with a central support team to ensure contracts deliver best value to the Trust through effective supplier management, and support Senior Category Managers with the negotiation and completion of contracts often of a complex nature to support the category strategy.
- Procurement Excellence: Pursue procurement excellence through the implementation of efficient and effective procurement projects, ensuring contract compliance across the Trust and promoting procurement outside the procurement function.
- Team Collaboration: Be a member of the Procurement Team, advising and supporting Divisional Management Teams on service design and provision, and delivering a coordinated work-plan in a timely manner across the Trust.
- Reporting and Analysis: Produce regular capacity and performance reports, verbal and written to Senior Category Managers and/or the Deputy Head of Procurement as required.
